getting ready for the holidays
Lily has been to the vet about 2 weeks ago to get her booster. She was terrified! I guess she is a typical Toller in the sense that she does not greet strangers enthusiastically (unlike Jessie). All went well though and she currently weights 13.9 kilo's, she is still so tiny compared to Jessie .
We have moved last month too and the girls are settling in well (also the reason why I have not updated recently, the move and all was just so much). We are now getting ready for a road trip to Germany in about 3 weeks time to see my mom and brother. I will update pcitures from the last couple days later today or tomorrow.

Lily is one
Lily turned one on May 13th and I have to say that she turned into a beautiful girl. Her and Jessie are so different in size and character that you would not believe that they are related.
Lily is still high maintenance as I call it. Always up for a play and she just loves her ball. She can play fetch with her ball all day and now that she has turned one, I hope to try my luck in agility with her. She is a natural retriever and does enjoy anything that ends up with her having to retrieve something. Here are some pictures from our last walk a couple days ago.

It's the season
to be in season. Lily came in season about 1.5 weeks ago and Jessie is now in Season as well. I am pleased they matched each others seasons as it means we should be able to go back to normal off lead walks in about 2.5/3 weeks.

Beach; Vet and a guardian angel
About 3 weeks ago, I took Jessie and Lily to the beach in the morning. Both girls had a lot of fun both on the beach and the 6 miles walk up to the light house later on. Needless to say they were tired once we got home.

About 1.5 weeks ago, Jessie was due to go to the vet for her 2 year health check. The evening before I noticed that she was limping and once we got home she was constantly nibbling on her front paw. I checked it out and found that she probably bit it open, so I asked the vet the next morning to check it out. Turned out she had a blister on her paw. It must have been painful, as we had to hold her down with 2 people so that the vet could shave off the fur around her paw. She was given an antibiotics shot and got tablets for a week. It healed very well and she is now as good as new.
On Tuesday, I had a guardian angel looking down on her too. I took them to a nearby park at around 5:45pm. Jessie was sniffing around like normal and Lily played with her ball, when suddenly someone let of a firework. Now Jessie is terrified of them and took a run. Lily followed her as quickly as she could. I called them both back but only Lily came. I put her on the lead and followed Jessie. I could see that she was in a panic, she didn’t listen at all, she was just running. She crossed 3 roads (one of them a main road) and went running home and was sitting front of the door shivering. I was so glad she knew were she lived and that nothing happened to her while she crossed the road.
