Feeling poorly?

Lily is doing great and I think she settled in very well. I am back at work since this week but my boss gives me the time to keep checking in on the dogs every couple hours. Having Jessie around makes things much easier then I expected and the two enjoy each others company.

She was at the vets yesterday for her 2nd vaccination. We had to wait quite a bit and it was commented how cute and quiet she is. She was just laying on my lap and enjoying the cuddles and attention. I also put her on the scales and at 10 weeks she is 2.81kg. I can't exactly remember Jessie but I am sure Jessie was bigger.

Well we got home and after that Lily seemed to be getting a bit unwell, she was crying a lot and wasn't really eating her dinner. She did drink though, so I wasn't too worried. However when it was time for bed, she started to cry a lot in her crate. She is usally fine in the crate, so I thought she might needs to go out for a wee but no she didn't, she was just laying in the crate, crying and crying for hours. I got quite worried about her and thought about leaving her with Jessie in the sitting room but she didn't want that either and was jsut crying and crying. Eventually I moved my bed on the sitting room floor and after another hour of crying Lily settled next to me and fell assleep. That was at 3am!
The bad thing was I was due to get up at 5am, so it was one short night. When I woke up Lily was curled up next to me on one side, sleeping peacfully and Jessie on the other. She is doing fine today though, so I think it might have been a reaction to the vaccination. She is eating normally again and is fine otherwise.

Proud Mommey!

Lily joined us 8 days ago and has settled in brilliantly. She adores Jessie and Jessie maks me feel so proud.
Jessie having always been a single dog, has always been very dominant in the house. Other dogs where told of when they visited, they were not allowed to touch her toys or worse her bones. So with Lily joining us, I was prepared for some battles but she has accepted Lily much quicker then I had anticipated.

It’s a joy to see the two of them together, Jessie lays on the floor and plays with Lily, Lily is climbing all over her and nipping her neck, ears and paws.
Today I watched them how Jessie took one of her teddies and walked up to Lily to encourage her to play tug o war. Honestly I am so proud of Jessie, I think she quite enjoys the company of the little annoying thing :-)

Lily is doing fine too, I am training her on her lead, which is working really well and she also knows her name and comes when I call her. She is extremely confident and love to have play fights with Jessie. She also is a chewer (even more then Jessie ever was).

The nights are no problem, she settles well in the crate (without a fuss) and ususually wakes up once to be let out between 1 to 3 and then goes back to sleep until 6am, which is not too bad.

Lily

Lily is fnally home with me. I went down and picked her up on Thursday morning, together with Jessie. She was crying and howling for 45 minutes in the car but both me and Jessie ignored her in her crate and after that she settled down and went to sleep. Once we got home she investigated the house and met the neighbour kids who all loved her (well it's difficult not to).

She is great so far, no crying in the evenings when it's time to go in her crate. She usually wakes up at round 2am, I take her out for a wee and then she goes back to sleep until about 5.30/6am, before she is due another wee.

Jessie is great with her, much better then I expected. Not much growling from her side, unless Lily goets too annoying. And Lily is also allowed to put her head in Jessies foodbowl (which is suprising really). Jessie doesn't touch Lily's food either. Once in a while it get's too much for Jessie and she goes in the bedroom to get some quietness but they get on well. Lily adores Jessie already and follows her everywhere. We rarely have accidents in the house and Lily is very easy so far. As I don't have much time to update, just a couple pics from the last days.

Tomorrow

Tomorrow I will go and pick up our little girl, I can't wait. Jessie is already wondering what the crate is doing out and I am very curious what she will think once the little one has come to live with us.

Well, for those of you who wanted to see the little girl, her she is:

This is her sister, by the way:

And here you can see Jessie with the love of her life, honestly I swear to god. The who are so cute together, Jessie always walks up to his door to get him to come out. She let's him hump her and everything, She tells everyone off who would try but not Frazer. The two are about the same age (Frazer is 2 month older then she is) and he is a very lovely dog. I took the pictures a couple weeks back, just after we came back from Germany and been home for 1 hour.

An update at last

Sorry time was flying the last couple weeks and I still had not put up the last pictures from Germany, so here we go:

Jessie traveling in the car on our way back via Netherlends, Belgium and France to the UK

In the little stream close to my mom's house

Getting dry ;-)

swimming (mor by accident then anything else, since she went in and then figured out it's too deep to walk in so she swam to the other end, couldn't get out there and came back)

I took this picture on our morning walk, this is the tiny village that I grew up in, isn't it beautiful? So much nature around you.

While we have been in Germany, Jessie also came in season, she just finished a week and half ago, which is nice since now I won't have a hormonal Jessie and a puppy running aroudn the house :-)
